Overview
AdhereTech is a software & data company that creates patient support programs, customized by using real-time data from patented smart devices and other feeds. The company works with specialty pharmacies and pharmaceutical manufacturers to support patients and increase “time on therapy” for healthcare companies. The AdhereTech smart pill bottle is integrated into pharmacy systems, which fill/refill doses with the AdhereTech bottle instead of a standard pill bottle.
AdhereTech recently announced a partnership with another company profiled, AARDEX.
How it works
AdhereTech offers a smart pill bottle that has cellular connectivity built directily into the pill bottle. Adherence information is automatically sent to the hub from a sensor in the bottle that reads how many pills the bottle contains. Patients utilizing AdhereTech can start using their device immediately. The system integrates with landlines, cell phones, and smartphones. The system is designed to send information back to patients via text message or automated call.
Scoring
AdhereTech has been scored below according to it’s ability to serve the TB market for low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) along Fit for Purpose and Technical Specifications metrics. Note that higher scores equate to a greater ability to serve the market. For example, if a product scores well in the Provider Burden subcategory, that means that the burden for the provider is low.
